What Is This Place?

You've found the drop. Congratulations — or condolences, depending on your disposition.

SCREED is a document-sharing site for things that don't fit neatly into a tweet, a Slack message, or a corporate memo. It's a place for the long-form, the opinionated, and the slightly unhinged.

Think of it as a digital zine rack. A samizdat server. A broadsheet nailed to the door of the internet.

The Rules

There are only three:

  1. Say something worth reading. Life is short and screens are bright. Don't waste anyone's photons.
  2. No corporate speak. If it sounds like it was written by a committee, it doesn't belong here. We will know.
  3. Keep it SFW. Subversive, yes. Offensive, no. Someone's boss might see this, and we'd rather they be intrigued than appalled.

How It Works

Documents appear here when someone drops a markdown file into the machine. No CMS. No approval workflow. No meetings about meetings. Just words, rendered in HTML, served over HTTPS, cached at the edge.

"The printing press is the greatest weapon in the armory of the modern commander." — T.E. Lawrence (probably talking about something else, but it works here)

The technology is deliberately simple. Static files. No JavaScript frameworks were harmed in the making of this site. The content is the point, not the plumbing.

What's Next

More dispatches. More documents. More reasons to bookmark this page and check back when the algorithm isn't watching.

If you have something to say, you know where to find us.

Actually, you probably don't. That's kind of the point.
